About the artist

Portrait and fine art photographer based in Denmark
Hamid Aminrezai

I work with photography as a way of connecting with people.

My work moves between portraits created in controlled environments and spontaneous encounters in the street. Regardless of where the images are made, the human presence remains central.

Photography began for me as a way of crossing personal boundaries. As a foreigner in Denmark, I often experienced a distance between myself and others in public spaces. Using the camera, I started pushing my limits, approaching strangers and challenging my own hesitation.

I discovered that I loved the feeling of progress, and that motivation still drives my work today.

Sometimes I stop someone in the street and ask for a portrait. The photograph is only part of the process. What interests me most is the moment when two strangers meet and share a brief sense of trust.

My portraits are therefore not staged stories, but traces of human encounters that shape my memory of what it means to be human.

Alongside portraiture, I also work with quieter fine-art images from nature, where the pace is slower and the gaze more inward.

Both directions come from the same curiosity: to understand the world through photography.

Selected works are available as signed fine art prints. Contact for availability and pricing.
